Placer County has announced $0 down solar financing for residents.  The cost of the system will be financed through a 7.25% loan.  The payments on the loan will be paid twice a year, along with property taxes.  Most property owners will be able to combine the loan payments and a much lower electric bill to save thousands of dollars over the life of the system.

The program is authorized by Assembly Bill 811, which gives local governments the authority to finance the installation of improvements in energy and water efficiency as long as those improvements are permanently affixed to homes, commercial buildings, agricultural land or other property.

Simply Put:

- Low interest rate loan (so far at 7.25% amortized over 20 years) from the County attached to your property that resides within the County’s limits and to be paid every six months through / along with your County property tax payment;

-Earmarked ONLY for and covers MOST energy efficiencies and renewable energies available to the public;

-Requires NO credit check and can pass to new owners of property without future credit checks through title transfer at escrow.
